Sense of Perspective

Spent a large chunk of today involved in a series of activities organised by the local authority to look at a site in Huddersfield. We were quite a mix of people, some local, some who’d never been to Huddersfield before. It’s interesting to be made aware how the degree of familiarity you have with a place influences your view of it. I think the mix of perspective was very useful, which you don’t always get when consultants are parachuted cold into an area to deal with a project with no local support.

Apart from the jolt to my own thinking from being involved with the group, the thing that impressed me most was the way the very high-powered guy next to me managed to Tweet his way through the whole day. I definitely felt very old.
