Midnight Flit
The ingratitude of dumb animals: we’ve given the swallows that nested in one of our garages free board and lodging for as long as they wanted; no restrictions on when they could come and go and we carefully avoided any activity that could disturb parents or chicks. And how do they repay us? Upped and gone leaving nothing but a large pile of droppings on the floor below the nest.
Have we peaked?
Months of training paid off last Saturday when a group of One 17ers plus assorted friends and relations successfully completed the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge.
Things that go Splash in the Night
As some people will know, we are part way through the regeneration of the pond behind the office. We turned a near tragedy into an opportunity when the pond had to be emptied of water, and we have cleaned and cleared it out ready to be refilled with water and restocked with fish.

Once Bitten
Bring together a bunch of people with a penchant for keeping fit, a gorgeous summer’s evening and a stretch of grass outside the back of the office (plus one bright spark with a camera) and what have you got? Scenes from Health and Efficiency 2010 style.

Norah Batty

Natural Good Taste
