New Faces and Old Faces 2

New faces and old faces 2: the last couple of months has seen quite a few changes in personnel at One 17. In April, Jane, our long-serving accounts lady decided she had reached the stage where her husband and garden held more attraction than arguing with our bank, and she retired.

A couple of weeks later, Eileen, arguably the world’s best copy typist and proof reader, followed in Jane’s footsteps and went off to enjoy herself. But not before a party at which she introduced the rest of us to one of her passions: line dancing. Some of us took to it better than others, but one of the partners (no names…..) so impressed that he was invited to become a member of a local club.

Replacing people who’ve been with you for many years is, of course, no easy task but after several rounds of interviews, we did it: our new group accountant, Heather Pattison, hails from Mossley (yes, we even accept Lancastrians) and seems to have a thing about travelling over the hill as she worked for another Huddersfield company before joining us.

Our second triumph was in luring Lisa Wilson to join us from a local firm of solicitors.  Lisa came with an impressive CV and an even more impressive reputation as something of a runner – just what we need in an office that already boasts a number of people who think lunchtimes are for knocking off a few miles pounding up and down the hills around Armitage Bridge rather than getting cosy with a BLT.
